This five day wilderness retreat will offer each of us time to meet together in council, meditate, practice Yoga and T'ai Chi, create a 7 circuit labyrinth and celebrate our sacred connection with the Earth
There is nothing like a sojourn in the wilderness to put us in touch with the rhythms of nature. In these challenging times, it is good to gather in a circle in simple communion with the Earth. When we enter the land of our souls through music, movement, meditation and prayer, we create an opportunity for our own dreams and visions to surface. Taking the opportunity to retreat to a place of exquisite natural beauty and to live simply in the circle provides a way of integrating our vision with our lives. This practice is a gift to ourselves and those we serve.
We will create a balance between group activity and personal solitude. Each day we will create the circle, move, practice Yoga and T'ai Chi together, share our experiences and make music and ceremony. One day will be set aside for a personal vision quest alone in the wilderness. Over the course of the week, we will construct a labyrinth from the surrounding rock and walk it as part of our practice. Earth based practices from many traditions will guide us.
This retreat is intended for everyone interested in deepening their connection with the natural world and exploring their own guidance arising from this unique combination of movement, meditation and labyrinth walking surrounded by the spectacular beauty of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This workshop is suitable for everyone, regardless of experience.
Our pilgrimage will be to the magnificent Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Santa Fe, New Mexico. Here we will stay at Rose Mountain Retreat Center a beautiful mountain top of gardens, solar powered buildings and trails perched at 8,000 feet overlooking pine forest and uninhabited wilderness. Rose Mountain has indoor accommodations as well as platform tents and spaces for your own tent. We will be provided with vegetarian meals and hot showers. We will have the option of working in the beautiful indoor yoga studio as well as in a tipi. Rose Mountain is a sacred place; truly an example of how human beings can most gracefully interact with the natural world. Our pilgrimage will include:

Judith Tripp, MA, MFT, is a Transpersonal Psychotherapist, workshop leader, musician and Labyrinth facilitator with Veriditas. She founded Women's Mountain Pilgrimages in 1986. She has led the Women's Dream Quest at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco and other locations for 16 years and offers Pilgrimage to Avalon, a yearly trip to England.
Jacob Barnett, has played T'ai Chi for the past 27 years and currently teaches in the San Francisco Bay area. This retreat offers a unique opportunity to explore T'ai Chi as a vehicle for integrating the natural world with our being; applying the form's essence to daily life, as a vehicle for personal health, development and transformation.
Accommodations, Fees & Registration:
3 deliciously prepared, vegetarian meals per day, workshop fees and sleeping accommodations in the lodge or in platform tents. Most spaces are designed for one person with several double beds for two: $650
Alternatively, tent site accommodations are available: Includes the meals, workshop fee use of common facilities, you bring your own tent and bedding to camp on the retreat center grounds: $550
